ASA Store FAQs

Do bookstores receive discounts for ordering with ASA?
Yes, bookstores receive a 20 percent discount for ordering from ASA general publications.

Can you ship items with UPS?
Yes. Customers may select UPS Ground or UPS 2nd Day at checkout.     

When can I expect to see my publications?
If you are receiving the items with standard shipping, you should expect the shipment to arrive within 7-10 days of the order. (Orders shipped to outside the United States may take longer to arrive.)

If an item is out of stock, can we still order the publication?
ASA does not accept back orders for items that are unavailable.

Does ASA have a return policy?
Yes. If the item was purchased within 90 days, is in unused condition, and is still currently sold by the ASA, contact the ASA Publications Department at publications@asanet.org for a return authorization. Once the items are returned to ASA in good condition, we will issue a refund to the purchaser, less a 10% return/restocking fee.

Do you ship to international addresses?
Yes. International shipments may take longer than U.S. shipments. Expect the package to arrive within 3-4 weeks of the order. 

Due to recent changes in delivery costs, we are unable to ship the Guide to Graduate Departments of Sociology outside the U.S. 

Can you order through the phone?
ASA does not accept orders by telephone, mail, or wire payment. All orders must be placed online in the ASA store. We can assist you in logging in to place an online order if you do not know your username and password. Call (202) 383-9005 or email publications@asanet.org.

What are the shipping charges?
STANDARD shipping to U.S. addresses is included at no additional cost. Allow 7-10 days for delivery. 

STANDARD shipping outside the U.S. is $10 per item for Canada and $13 per item elsewhere. 

SPECIAL Shipping is available for U.S. orders only and will be based per item and is in addition to Standard Shipping, as follows. Note that special shipping rates are doubled for addresses outside the continental U.S. (e.g., Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico) to cover the significantly higher costs charged by USPS and UPS. 

• UPS Ground is $12 for the first item plus $6 for each additional item. 
• PRIORITY mail is $10 for the first item plus $3 for each additional item.
• UPS 2nd Day is $20 for the first item plus $5 for each additional item. 
• USPS Priority Express is $35 for the first item plus $10 for each additional item.
