Research Workshop: Introduction to Visual and Digital Methods Event Image

with Laura Robinson, Santa Clara University

3:00 - 4:00 PM EST

How do sociologists study a world increasingly shaped by images, social media, algorithms, and digital technologies? This workshop introduces participants to Visual and Digital Methods, an emerging area of research that combines traditional sociological inquiry with innovative approaches to studying online and visual cultures. Participants will explore how photographs, videos, documentaries, social media content, digital traces, and online networks can be used to investigate social phenomena, identities, and change. The session will cover key concepts and research techniques, as well as how to obtain the skill sets needed to conduct this research successfully and ethically.

Free to members. Available to non-members for a fee. Closed captioning available.
